Yes! Pietraware uses a blend of proprietary mix of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). We won’t bore you with too many details, but the mix used by us is sustainable, highly durable and yes it’s 100% natural concrete.
Basins at pietra ware are made from UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete. The strength of our basins is way stronger comparable to that of a ceramic basin. It is highly unlikely for your basin to chip with normal use but if it does stay rest assured that it is repairable as all our products are solid surface ( meaning the colour you see on the outside, will be colour you see on the inside ) & the surface can be re-polished.
Though we densify all our products and use a proprietary sealing system using a water based PU Sealer along with admixes placed into the concrete composition ensuring our basins are ready for real world use. That said, this is concrete, a beautiful natural material, and slowly over time will gain character. Pietra Ware have taken concrete to its limit with water and stain tolerance, but like all natural materials, our basins need a little bit of TLC. Please do not buy this assuming it similar to glazed ceramic products, it is a natural material. Over the years your product may need resealing, polishing or buffing depending on the abuse and for the same we sell kits and provide support that you can use to refinish your bathware to retain its beauty.
Pietra Ware provides a 60 month structural warranty for all our bathware, and can assure the client that our bathware won’t deteriorate, chip or crack by themselves over time. The proprietary mix of concrete we use is over-engineered for its use, and will stand the test of time usually for ages in this environment.
Pietra Ware basins are handmade to order and most of our bathware if selected from our existing shapes can be shipped anywhere from 3-6 weeks after the placement of order and confirming the colour or terrazzo design. Though we also carry limited stock for most of the products and designs we make. You can always contact our Sales Team to check what we have In Stock!
Simply wash Pietraware Concrete Terrazzo basins with warm, soapy water and a soft, microfiber cloth as required. We ask the client to please avoid bleach, thinner, acid and other heavy chemicals, for which there is no need. We also advise avoiding scrubbing with sccrubber and abrasive pads it will damage the surface over time, and isn’t necessary as the sealing system is self cleaning and a simple mop with soapy water and soft cloth will remove most of the stains. In case you the bathware was damage using abrasive chemicals and you need to refinish the piece please contact our team for support.
Pietra Ware safely packages all product for which is a process we take very seriously. All our larger item’s like Pedestal Basins, Integrated Basins, Bathtubs and more that weight more than 25 kg are packed in Wooden Crates with heavy foam backing. All our smaller product like table top basins are packaged safely in 9mm double-edged cardboard, with foam packaging. The basins are very safe in transit and will take bumps and drop while transiting very easily, something Pietraware is very proud of. The packing methods are tested by us overtime with maximum abuse it can incur during transit and for the same we take full responsibility of the products arriving intact upon arrival. If Products arrive cracked, chipped or broken we take full responsibility to have it repaired or have a new piece sent depending on the damage. Contact our team and they will assess the damage and provide the best solution.
Installation is very simple. There is an installation video here for plumbers to follow. The only thing the plumber needs to be careful of, is to avoid placing his or her tools in the basin during installation. We ask that the plumber run clear silicon around the basin where it meets the bench top. Avoiding scratching the basin would also be ideal.
No. Unfortunately we provide no refunds in whatsoever the case is because all our products are handcrafted using natural materials and our products tends to have variation in colours, finishes, size and shape and which is exactly the unique thing about concrete and terrazzo bathware compared to mass produced ceramic bathware If you have received products completely cracked broken we can reship a new one.
